Pairing Wine & Food was created as part of Inside Illustration, a series by the Association of Illustrators (AOI) exploring different sectors of illustration practice. My contribution was included in the Editorial Lifestyle & Food Portraiture folio, focusing on visual storytelling around food culture.
I chose to illustrate wine and food pairing, aiming to capture the balance and harmony between flavours in a graphic, playful way. The composition is designed to feel light and convivial, with bold shapes and a simple colour palette that reflects freshness and approachability.
Working digitally, I focused on clean lines and stylised forms, reducing details to their essentials while still communicating texture and taste. The arrangement of elements suggests conversation and conviviality — plates, glasses, and ingredients interacting to evoke the social aspect of shared meals.
This illustration was an opportunity to explore editorial-style food imagery in a way that feels modern, cheerful, and accessible.
