Welcomings

Illustrators Ireland presents Welcomings, a series of 21 tiny illustrated books designed to welcome refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland. These 8-page zine-style books feature minimal text to be accessible to all languages and include interactive elements. Launched on World Refugee Day 2024, the project aims to foster friendship and understanding, with 50% of proceeds donated to MASI (Movement of Asylum Seekers Ireland).

The Good Biscuits celebrates how hospitality is a cherished value in Irish culture. Having “good” biscuits on hand for visitors is a quintessential part of this tradition. The simple act of offering a cup of tea and biscuit symbolises warmth and welcome. This practice reflects our commitment to making everyone feel valued and at home. “Welcomings” embodies this spirit, extending the hand of friendship to refugees in Ireland.
