What links our creative consciousness? What feeds our collective output? Away from modern life and the onslaught of global information, our minds draw inspiration from the spaces around us as well as the spaces within.
Dáimh: Affinities is a group exhibition curated by Illustrators Ireland, bringing together 23 contemporary illustrators in a poster show that explores the personal sources of creative energy. Each member was invited to interpret an activity or place that helps calm their mind and create the space needed for creativity to emerge: from quiet domestic rituals to the landscapes, both inner and outer, that sustain a creative practice.
As illustrators, the members of Illustrators Ireland make a living from being creative, often within the confines of a working week. The exhibition reflects on what that demands: the ability to switch creativity on, to find inspiration on request, and to return again and again to the well. The exhibition ran at Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich, 216 Falls Road, Belfast, from 30 April to 11 June 2026.
