ICS Annual Report 2019

The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity in the Republic of Ireland dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem and improving the lives of those affected by cancer. Through funding research, providing support services, and raising awareness, the Society works to make a meaningful difference for patients and their families.

For the Irish Cancer Society’s 2019 Annual Report, designed by Dublin-based agency Red Dog, I was commissioned to create six illustrations of the charity’s brand ambassadors. These ambassadors shared their personal experiences with cancer and helped represent the organisation’s work and impact throughout the year.

The illustrations were created digitally, using simple, graphic shapes combined with a soft, warm colour palette. My aim was to reflect the resilience and positivity of each ambassador while maintaining an approachable and accessible style that supported the tone of the report. The portraits needed to feel human, honest, and hopeful, aligning with the Society’s message of care, community, and forward progress.

The annual report brought together clear, informative content with thoughtful design and illustration, communicating the Society’s key achievements and priorities for the year.
