Gesture drawing this week was centred around silhouettes and negative space. We created cutouts as a way to block out the shapes. This technique creates an interesting positive and negative effect as there is both the cut piece and the page from which it was cut. Showing shapes that merge and overlap as one creates a very graphic image and this process is one I will happily be taking into my illustrations in the future.
